Terms & Conditions
Use Expense Hunt for your own finances. It helps you track money, but it isn’t financial advice. Keep a backup, check what the AI suggests, and manage any subscription in Google Play.
1. Agreement & who can use it
These terms are an agreement between you and ThinkerCart for the Expense Hunt: AI Money Tracker app and this website. By installing or using the app you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Expense Hunt is suitable for all ages (3 and over). If you are under the age of majority where you live, please use the app with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for these terms on your behalf. Premium subscriptions, AI provider keys and Google accounts must be set up by an adult or with an adult’s permission, and those services have their own age requirements.
2. What Expense Hunt is
Expense Hunt is a personal record-keeping and budgeting tool that stores your data on your phone. It is not a bank, lender, payment service, wallet, broker, investment platform or insurance product. It does not move money, connect to your bank accounts, make payments, give loans or hold funds. Entries such as “UPI”, “card” or “investment” are labels you choose to organise your records.
3. Not financial advice
Figures, reports, budgets, net-worth values, debt-payoff plans, insights and AI suggestions are tools to help you organise your own information. They are not financial, tax, legal, accounting or investment advice, and we are not a registered investment adviser or tax professional. Check important numbers yourself and speak to a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
4. AI assistant
- The assistant works with an AI provider you choose, using your own API key. You are responsible for that key, your agreement with the provider, and any charges the provider makes.
- What you submit (text, a voice transcript, or a receipt photo, plus today’s date and your category and account names) is sent from your phone to that provider, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not submit information you do not want that provider to receive.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or misread a receipt. The app shows you what will be saved and asks you to confirm. Please check amounts, dates and categories before you confirm.
- Do not use the assistant to create unlawful, harmful or misleading content. If a reply seems inappropriate, tell us at support@thinkercart.com.
5. Your data & backups
Your data lives on your phone and belongs to you. We cannot see it or restore it for you. You are responsible for keeping backups: use Google Drive backup (Premium) or export a backup file (free). If you lose or reset your phone without a backup, or forget a backup passphrase, the data cannot be recovered by us or anyone else.
7. Acceptable use
Use the app only for your own lawful, personal purposes. Do not copy, resell, reverse-engineer (except where the law allows), interfere with, or misuse the app, its licensing or Premium checks, or use it to record or facilitate unlawful activity.
8. Ownership & licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on your devices, subject to these terms and Google Play’s terms. The app, its name, logo and design belong to ThinkerCart or its licensors. Your data remains yours. Open-source components are used under their own licences.
9. Third-party services
Google (Drive, Play), your chosen AI provider, RevenueCat and Cloudflare are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct, but we choose them with care and describe each use in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to the app
We may update, add or remove features, and may stop offering the app. If we discontinue Premium features you have paid for, we will give reasonable notice and, where the law or Google Play’s policies require, a refund for the unused period.
11. Disclaimer
Subject to your legal rights, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations and AI output will be accurate for your situation.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ThinkerCart is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses caused by data you entered, AI output, third-party services, lost phones or lost backups or forgotten passphrases. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, or any right you have under consumer-protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India).
13. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it (see Data deletion to erase your data first). We may suspend or end access to Premium if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms or misuse the licensing system, after notice where reasonable.
14. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence where mandatory local law gives you that right. We encourage you to contact us first at support@thinkercart.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version and date will appear here and in the app. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it applies to you. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can stop using it and cancel any subscription.
